Rain stops weekend play
THERE was little joy for sports fans and players last weekend, with Coolum cricket and football games abandoned because of torrentail rain.
Coolum's junior cricketers turned up dressed to play on Saturday but togs and boardshorts might have been better, with much of the field under water.
Coolum's under-13 cricket team will play its semi-final next Sunday, weather permitting.
Over the fence at the Coolum Football Club, Johnny Warren Cup games were postponed and a visit by the Surfers Paradise Appollo Soccer Club was cancelled.
