Coolum golfers enjoy social lunch

More than 50 members and guests of the Over 50s Nine Hole Golfers enjoyed a very relaxed lunch at the Mount Coolum Golf Club last week to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

Organisers Pat Stead and Margaret Haas said the over 50s group was wonderful for the social contacts, and it also allowed golfers who can no longer manage a full round to stay in touch with the game.

A highlight of the afternoon was a presentation to Helen Christian for her 90th birthday on December 7. Helen has been a member since 1980.

Any golfer over 50 is welcome at the club on Tuesdays. Timesheet spots are from 6.45 – 7.30am and 10.30 – 11.15am. The cost is green fees plus a $3 competition fee. For details call Pat Stead on 5448 2003.
