Police interview witnesses at the scene of the accident.
A 32-year-old Eudlo woman was killed on the Yandina-Coolum Road on Tuesday while on an afternoon motorcycle ride with her boyfriend.
The crash happened about 3pm near Valdora Road, when Donna Van Rythoven lost control of her bike and drove into a ditch.
She was flung about five metres into sugar cane on the side of the road.
Attempts were made to resuscitate Ms Van Rythoven but she died at the scene from head injuries.
While officers from the Forensic Crash Unit inspected the scene, the woman’s boyfriend was comforted by friends.
A female friend at the scene said Ms Van Rythoven had been involved in a serious bike crash several years ago and, as a result, was extremely cautious on the road.
Senior Sergeant Scott Nolan said it appeared the woman lost control after failing to navigate a corner properly.
