Sunshine Brass will perform at the Coolum Civic Centre on Sunday afternoon.
If you love the sound of brass, then do not miss the Sunshine Brass concert at the Coolum Civic Centre this Sunday afternoon.
The Music in the Round concert will allow the audience to sit around the band or even beside their favourite player or section and ask questions about the music being performed.
The concert will include songs from ABBA, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, as well as the works of composers Bach and Sousa (including his famous marches) and hits from the British Proms.
Soloists from the band will be featured on songs such as Perhaps Love, Myfanwy, Misty, Big Spender, Colonel Bogey and many more.
Students from the Good Shepherd Lutheran College and Nambour Christian College will also be participating.
Sunshine Brass is the current Queensland champion, with members preparing for the state championships in the middle of the year.
Spokesman Kevin Brown said the band had a long history of success at both the state and national level.
“Most members are recognised as champion players in the state band scene and the influx of young people joining the band is testament of the wonderful musical grounding that is available for this age group in the band,” he said.
“The music at the Coolum Civic Centre concert will be toe-tapping and familiar and the audience are guaranteed to leave in higher spirits than when they arrived.”
Refreshments will be available.
The concert is the start of the Sunshine Brass 2010 concert series.
