Scarlet Harem expands

Paris Satine has bought the only other legal brothel on the Coast, Intrigue at Marcoola.

THE Coast’s brothel industry has become a monopoly following the sale of Intrigue of Marcoola.

Last week brothel owner Paris Satine bought out Intrigue, which was situated at Airport Industrial Estate, and shifted its trade to her Kunda Park business, Scarlet Harem.

Work is now under way to cater for an increase in business with a refurbishment of Scarlet Harem, which is now the only legal brothel on the Coast.

As a business-minded woman, Ms Satine said it made sense to buy out her competition and build “a bigger and better business” at her Kunda Park brothel.

“We have up to eight ladies working on each shift; a better selection of ladies for the clients,” she said.

Ms Satine said boosting her business would create more jobs on the Coast and she had already employed people for new management positions.

“From a big-business perspective I believed it was a good investment,” she said.

“(Intrigue) became available and I purchased it.”

“All the operations from Intrigue as a legal brothel have been transferred to Scarlet Harem.”

Scarlet Harem is undergoing its fifth refit since it was opened.

As for what she will do with the business that used to be Intrigue, Ms Satine said simply, “watch this space”.

The ambitious businesswoman said she was going to start “a new business that the Sunshine Coast has never seen before”.

The only intrigue that remains is what type of business Ms Satine will open. So far she has refused to say.
