THE FAMILY of missing Queensland teenager Daniel Morcombe has released an updated child-safety DVD tackling bullying and cyber safety.

Daniel was 13 when he was last seen on December 7, 2003 on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, when he disappeared without a trace.

His parents have since set up a foundation in his name to promote child safety.

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation launched its revised child-safety DVD at Australia Zoo on Wednesday.

Daniel's mother Denise Morcombe told AAP the foundation distributed 10,000 copies of the first DVD four years ago.

"But since then the technology changed, with all this social networking," she said.

"It's important kids make sure they have their privacy settings up to date on Facebook.

"A lot of kids have got mobile phones these days ... there's a lot of bullying via texting."

Ms Morcombe said Terri, Bindi and Bob Irwin presented a segment on personal safety, and teenage yachtswoman Jessica Watson spoke about mobile phone texting for the DVD.

The foundation has updated the DVD after receiving a grant from the Australian Federal Police and from its own fund-raising efforts.

Its release coincides with the start of national child protection week and is available to order free of charge on the Daniel Morcombe Foundation website.
