BOOTS that are steel-capped can become a real hazard if used in the wrong way.
Especially if you are kicking the window panel of a door you did not intend to break.
Raymond Robert Miller shopped at the United service station at Coolum three to five times a week because he lived across the road.
In July, he bought $50 worth of goods but complained when some of the items crushed his chicken roll.
The console operator offered to replace the crushed roll, but Mr Miller refused.
Police prosecutor Rick Pallister told Maroochydore Magistrates Court this week that Mr Miller then knocked a confectionary stand over and broke it.
He said the 47-year-old kicked the glass panel of a door and smashed it on his way out.
Mr Miller was fined $400 and ordered to pay $528 for the damage.
