Hundreds of flag-wearing, flag-waving locals turned out in hot and humid conditions at Coolum on Monday to celebrate all things Australian.

Activities in Tickle Park included a citizen awards ceremony, rides, market stalls, live music, toad races, thong-throwing and tug of war events and a spectacular fireworks display.
