Daylight saving begins Sunday

IT'S that time of year again when most of the country moves to daylight saving time.

This Sunday October 4 at 2am, in all states but Queensland and Western Australia, Australians will wind their clocks forward by an hour to begin daylight saving time.

Queensland does not participate in daylight saving time as the public voted against it after several trials, but it continues to be a contentious topic in the state with many in the south-east corner calling for the state to be divided into two time zones.

Western Australians voted against daylight saving time in a referendum earlier this year after trialing it for three years.

So for those who live in the affected states, don't forget to wind your clocks forward and for those who don't, enjoy your extra hour of sleep.

Do you think it's time for Queensland to embrace daylight saving?
