A 29-YEAR-OLD Bracken Ridge man who died from injuries received on a construction site last week has been described as having a warm, open manner and a love for fishing, mechanics and car racing.

Peter William Tullett, a mechanical maintenance fitter, was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital following the incident at Springfield Lakes, southwest of Brisbane on April 10, but died the following day.

Kathy Tullett said her nephew was highly regarded in both his work environment and the community.

"His warm, open approach made him a friend to many, particularly those who shared his enthusiasm for fishing, mechanics and car racing," she said.

"As his father Bill said to him in his final hours 'you were a good son, but for not long enough', a truth with which all people who knew, cared and loved him agree."

Peter lived in Shorncliffe and Deagon before buying his own home in Bracken Ridge.

He attended Sandgate State School and Sandgate District State High School and was a member of Sandgate Scouts and Sandgate Uniting Church's Kookas Youth Group.

He leaves behind his parents Bill and Sue, sister Rebecca, and partner Laura.

His funeral service will be held at Lakeview Chapel, 400 Albany Creek Road, Bridgeman Downs on Friday, April 21 at 2pm.
