FUEL WATCH: Where to grab the best fuel bargains today

PETROL prices are at the lowest since since May last year. Unleaded was at 133.9 cents a litre on the Sunshine Coast yesterday, maintaining the trend which started earlier this week. Last Friday prices were sitting around 146.9.

The RACQ said prices were low in the south-east, and the Coast prices were consistent with Brisbane's.

"South-east Queensland is at the bottom of the price cycle, so now is the time to fill up and take advantage," an RACQ spokesperson said.

Australia's petrol big guns are to face Federal Court action next month for alleged price collusion.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is alleging price sharing between BP Australia, Caltex Australia, Coles Express, Woolworths and 7-Eleven.

The ACCC says through the use of Informed Sources petrol prices website, subscribers can exchange information that allows retailers to monitor and respond to each other's prices.
