SEVEN NBL clubs are represented in the Australian Boomers team for the first window of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Most of the Boomers' FIBA Asia Cup-winning group has selected for this campaign.
In the first window of the qualifiers the Boomers face Chinese Taipei away on November 24, before they travel home to Australia to play Japan in Adelaide.
Chris Goulding and Damian Martin are the only Rio Olympians on this team, while Brad Newley, a two-time Olympian, is featured.
Jason Cadee, Mitch Creek, Cameron Gliddon Mitch McCarron and Nathan Sobey are the back-court, with Angus Brandt, Matt Hodgson, Nick Kay, and Daniel Kickert up front.
"The quality of talent that we have to select from is pleasing and reflects on the healthy state of Australian basketball as well as the NBL,” Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis said.
"In the end we have tried to keep some continuity from the FIBA Asia Cup as well as adding two Rio Olympians.”
Because of the timing of the qualifiers, Australia's NBA players couldn't be selected for this squad.
The NBL has scheduled two bye rounds from November 20-28, to accommodate these games.
"Injuries and form will play their part and the willingness of players to step in to wear the green and gold and play in the manner honouring the legacy of the singlet at a moment's notice is critical to our overall chance of success,” Lemanis said.
"I cannot over emphasise the importance of everyone in the squad - they are all contributing to the success of the team.”
The Boomers need to qualify through these matches to earn a spot at the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.
