Four uncapped players make Diamonds cut

THE remaining nine members of the World Cup-winning Australian Diamonds team have all been named in a 15-strong squad to take on New Zealand in the coming four-Test Constellation Cup series.

Defenders Julie Corletto and Rebecca Bulley announced their retirements after Australia claimed its third consecutive World Cup triumph in Sydney last month, while vice-captain Kimberlee Green called time on her international career.

Coach Lisa Alexander has named the uncapped Gretel Tippett (Firebirds, pictured), Ashleigh Brazill (Fever), Gabi Simpson (Firebirds) and Joanna Weston (Vixens) in the squad, and has also recalled defenders Clare McMeniman (Firebirds) and April Letton (West Coast).

The squad will be cut to 12 ahead of the first game in Christchurch on October 20.
