THE annual Caboolture Family Fun Day is bringing the ultimate affordable show experience to the Moreton Bay region with a huge program of free rides, entertainment and activities for families to enjoy.

Held at Centenary Lakes on August 14, the day will be an inexpensive alternative to the Ekka, with more than 10 free rides and activities for kids to enjoy and a free action-packed laser tag attraction.

Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) CEO Shane Newcombe said the day remained one of the most popular annual events in the area.

"Events like the Caboolture Family Fun Day are great at bringing the local community together. Show season is a fun time of year but can be expensive. We aim to deliver the same show experience as the Ekka at a fraction of the cost to families.”

Division 3 councillor Adam Hain said this year's fun day was not to be missed, and is expected to be bigger and better than before.

"Every year the Caboolture Family Fun Day gets bigger and better and I'm particularly pumped that every kid's favourite crazy sheep - Shaun the Sheep - will be making a special appearance in the Moreton Bay region for this year's fantastic event.

"While the kids enjoy all the thrills and spills, parents can take a much-needed R&R through the market stalls.

"So, if you're up for some cracking fun and an affordable day out the whole family can enjoy, make sure you come along and make the most of this fantastic event right here in our backyard.”

The entire day will feature an incredible program of family-friendly live entertainment including solo, duo and group musical performances.

Highlights will include the Kangagang and Playtime Farm Show and the hilarious Larrikin Puppets. Families can also enjoy incredible magic tricks and illusions by Nickelby the Magician and get up close to the animals from Geckos Wildlife.

And no show experience would be complete without a huge range of colourful show bags to take home at the end of a fantastic and affordable show day.

Visitors are encouraged to make use of parking available at Caboolture town centre in the multi-storey carpark off Hasking St.

Free shuttle buses will run from Caboolture Station and Caboolture Town Square to the event from 9.30am to 5pm.
