HOT rods and classic cars are revving into the hinterland tonight for the third annual Kin Kin Kampout.

The weekend-long event, including a campout for motorists and a show and shine on Sunday for the public, will help raise money for a charity yet to be decided.

It has been organised by the Under 70s Rod and Custom Club.

Treasurer Gayl Hoskin said the club was hoping for more than 100 cars at Sunday’s public viewing, which will also feature raffles, auctions and presentations.

She will be showing off her 1955 Thunderbird Roadster.

“Hot rod are classic cars. They’ve got a bit of character with them and a lot of work goes into them,” she said. “I’ve grown up with them. My brothers always had cars and now my husband has a Thunderbird of his own.”

The Kin Kin Kampout will be held at the Kin Kin community grounds. Entry fee is $15 including camping and car show entry.

Friday night include a cruise to a local eatery and a bench session around a campfire after dinner.

Saturday morning begins with a mystery tour through the hinterland.

For information contact Gary on 5486 6225 or Mark on 5483 5228 or visit Under Seventies Rod and Custom Club.
