Bigger team gets Tim Mulherin out of parliamentary committee

OPPOSITION Deputy Leader Tim Mulherin will no longer have to participate in the parliamentary committee process thanks to a bigger team.

Queensland Parliament heard on Wednesday that Rockhampton MP Bill Byrne will replace the Mackay MP on the State Development, Infrastructure and Industry Committee.

New Redcliffe MP Yvette D'Ath, who was voted in during a by-election in February, will replace Mr Byrne on the Legal Affairs and Community Safety Committee.

Committees scrutinise the bills that are introduced to parliament, suggesting amendments and clarifications after feedback from the public.
