Potato Chips in Chocolate Bar. Chuao Chocolatier

LACKING inspiration for the perfect Father’s Day gift? These new and funky inventions from around the world are sure to get the kids thinking of out-of-the-box ways to spoil dad this year.

Potato Chips in a chocolate bar

The latest, greatest flavour from Chuao Chocolatier, as unveiled at the 57th annual Summer Fancy Food Show, is, wait for it, Potato Chips in Chocolate Bar. That’s right: pure, unadulterated hedonism, a ‘blend of ultra premium milk chocolate and all-natural potato chips’. Oh man. May we have a pack? Now!

The ultimate shelter

How long has dad been asking for a man cave? This could be the answer.

Inventor Paul Elkins has created the ultimate refuge for the down and out: the Mobile Homeless Shelter is a comfortable and portable way to beat the elements. Weighing in at 225 pounds, the shelter is small but packed with everything you’d need to live a life of comparative luxury, including, miraculously, a kitchen, a sleeping area, and even a bathroom.

Vertical Bed Design: sleep while standing up

Jamie O’Shea take a bow, then a nap, then a bow again. This is brilliant, a contraption that allows you to catch some zzzs whilst maintaining your place in the coffee line.

Even better, as our friends at Design Boom have noted: ‘The bed comes with noise canceling headphones, opaque sunglasses and a free-standing umbrella for napping in the rain’. Want.
