A RESULT has been reached for the seat of Townsville.

Labor's Scott Stewart has retained Townsville after 12 days of counting.

The incumbent has beaten LNP candidate Casie Scott by about 160 votes.

ECQ has officially today declared the seat, alongside four others.

A total of 50 seats have been declared in the Queensland election so far, with Labor winning 28 of those seats. Katter's Australian Party has won one seat, and the LNP has won 21.

Experts at The Courier Mail have called 47 seats already for Labor, meaning the Townsville win would put a Labor government led by Annastacia Palaszczuk in parliament with 48 seats.

LNP leader Tim Nicholls has not conceded the election yet.
