American tennis star Serena Williams has posted the first picture of her baby daughter on Instagram overnight.

The 35-year-old revealed she and her millionaire fiancee, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, named the little girl after her father.

"Meet Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr," she captioned the intimate photo.

It's two weeks since little Alexis was born - Williams revealed there had been some "complications", and she stayed in hospital for six days after the birth.

"It's been a long time. We had a lot of complications but look what we got, we got a baby girl," she said in a video on her official website.

The clip joked the youngster already had one grand slam title to her name, as Williams was pregnant when she won the Australian Open in January.
