SOCCER

COOLUM

Coolum Under-13 (1) Girls:

Caboolture stepped up their defensive efforts against Coolum and it took the home team a while to settle into the game. Larissa Crummer broke the deadlock when she ran onto a great pass from Claire Glackin and shot truly. Larissa then cracked a great left-foot goal and from there Coolum took control of the game.

With some great crosses and passes coming through from the midfielders, the shots began to find the target with regularity.

Kahla Mawby grabbed the second of her two goals with a great one-touch finish off Megan Rowley’s corner kick. Megan was full of energy in her first match back after being out with a fractured wrist and it was terrific to have her on the field again.

One of Coolum’s best goals saw Georgia Harries deliver a great throw-in for Remi Davey to run onto and finish magnificently. The left foot shooting practice at training paid dividends, with Claire and Larissa each scoring two goals with their left.

Larissa’s final tally was five goals, while Claire grabbed a hat-trick. The game finished with a superb corner kick from Kristen Boshammer, which flew enticingly across the face of goal but beat every player to curl out of play beyond the far post.

Maddison Hunter and Leilani Purchase put in terrific defensive efforts, winning the ball in great tackles and setting up play with accurate passes. Coolum ran out convincing 11-0 winners.
