The hills are alive with the sound of Lou Bradley

ARIA and CMAA Golden Guitar nominated singer-songwriter Lou Bradley will celebrate the launch of her third studio album by giving back to her local community.

"My husband Phil and I have raised our three children in the hills of Mullum and they all fondly spent their primary school years at Wilsons Creek Public School," she said.

"So I'm dedicating a percentage of ticket sales and all food and drink sales to support the present-day kids of this small community."

Bradley's latest album, The Other Side, will be launched on Saturday, August 30 at Wilsons Creek Hall.

"The album title reflects my journey as a musician from the highs of receiving John Butler's inaugural The Seed Fund grant, to working with famed country music producer Rod McCormack and being signed to EMI, then right through to the lows of EMI crumbling and losing my family home," she said.

"I had to save every penny including busking and pumping petrol to pay for it and by the end of it I felt like I'd reached the other side of whatever I was going through."

Tickets are available at The Bookshop Mullum, Wilsons Creek Public School, and on the door on the night. Tickets are $25 full price, $18 concession, with under 12s free.

Entry includes a bowl of winter soup and bread prepared by the school's P&C Association. Doors open for dinner from 6pm.
